The Schertz-Cibolo Optimist Club was founded June 6, 2005. Since that time the Club has been involved in many projects that impact the local community, especially the youth in the community. A few of our projects are listed below:
- Art Contest for Middle School students.
- Sponsored two Schertz-Cibolo Basketball teams.
- Clean trash for 2 miles of FM 78
- Bicycle Safety Clinic - with Schertz Police Dept.
- Collect clothes and snacks for nurses at three elementary schools.
- Sponsored T-Ball team
- Participated in Cibolo Fest with Cheerleaders from Dobie Middle School
- Gathered a truck load of furniture and clothes and money for burned out single mother
- Created student recognition program for two intermediate schools
- Assisted Operation Homefron with donations and logistical support
- Donations to create "Bookapalooza" at Schertz Public Library
We meet on the second Tuesday of every month at Pazzo Italian Restaurant in Schertz at 6:30 PM for dinner, 7:00 for our meeting.
